About LeAnn
LeAnn is an indie author who writes stories in a range of Urban Fantasy, Paranormal with Mythology roots and Fairytale Retellings.
When she’s not writing, she can be found out with her hubby and two munchkins around their home, however, exactly where that is has a tendency to change. Currently, Huntsville, Alabama was where the dart hit on the map but there is another dart in hand…
Though currently horseless, she has been riding since her early teen years and adores the giant animals so much that she tends to write them into her stories. Music is another constant in her life, a literal muse to her writing, so it’s no surprise to find references entrenched within the pages as well.
How I Fell Into Self-Publishing
Long ago, when I was only a twenty-something, my hubs started a new career and I found myself with a lot of time alone. This gave me the opportunity to rediscover my love for reading. I immersed myself in the emerging book community online, swooning over all the amazing things I found.
I’d always had a fondness for stories and soon a story was fighting to be told. When a few of my favorite new bookish peeps decided to take the plunge into publishing, I dove as well. Illusionary, my debut, released in March 2018 and I haven’t stopped since.
I’m not the most prolific writer, and I don’t do it as a primary career, but my stories are my small contribution to the bookish community. If a reader takes a chance on my stories and puts it down satisfied, that’s a win in my book. Pun totally intended. ; )
Me Outside of Books
I am a wife and mother of two. Three if you count my new pup, who is basically a button-pushing toddler. My eldest is basically a mini-me at nearly 14, and I can’t say I’m mad about it. She loves reading, writing and art, while my youngest lives for LEGOs and video games. I don’t understand those hobbies nearly as much but he’s super sweet and adorable so I just smile and nod being suitably impressed with the cool things he builds. We hadn’t had any animals in a few years, I’d spent my time either writing or doing real estate, and just before we moved back to Huntsville two years ago my shoulder decided to stop working. For nearly a month I had little to no mobility and sharp pains every time I moved my arm. It was a wake up call that, without acreage or animals, I had stopped being as active as I needed to be to keep my body healthy. I headed back to the gym and remembered how much I love to work out and push weight.
